A. May is Asian Pacific American heritage month
---
This month we celebrate the cultures and contributions of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. President George H.W. Bush issued Presidential Proclamation 6130 on May 7, 1990 to recognize of our fellow citizens every May.
However, since the spread of Covid-19, anti-Asian racism has spiked in the U.S. Recently the Center for Public Integrity reported 30% of Americans have witnessed someone blaming Asian people for the coronavirus pandemic, and that 60% of Asian Americans had seen such behavior. State and local leaders are filling the void left by the federal government. You can report an incident https://stopaapihate.com.
As an independent publisher, Immedium values our multicultural society. 40% of our titles feature Asian American themes and characters.
Celebrate our country's diversity and the strengths that come from it. Watch the new 5-part PBS documentary series Asian Americans starting May 11-12.
Meanwhile, stay safe with your family and connected with your friends.

a. Billie the Unicorn
---
"It's a beautiful book; not only are the illustrations stunning, but the layout is perfectly executed... The audience who will enjoy it most loves Brianne's artwork, which is gorgeous throughout, and readers who can appreciate the subtext. At the end of the story, Billie is happiest when creating for herself. Aren't we all?"
- Georgia Ball
b. The Discovery of Fireworks & Gunpowder
---
"Amara and Chin pack as much STEM information into Dao You's history lesson as there is metallic powder in pyrotechnic stars: 'In a mortar, the lift charge ignites to launch the shell up to 300 miles an hour, more than 1,000 feet high.' Calle's bright cartoons infuse energy and enthusiasm into each spread."
- Publishers Weekly
c. Sid the Squid
---
"Sid leaves the ocean, and with the help of a little girl, he searches the city in hopes of finding the right job for his particular talents. Fun, and with an inspiring message. Perfect for kids of all ages." - Cartoon Brew
d. Timmy & Tammy's Train of Thought
---
"kids seem to understand it perfectly. The fetching illustrations are by Heath McPherson and remind me of the classic storybooks of my youth, filtered through a candy-colored Nick Jr. prism: retro, but not too retro. I don't think I would even mind reading this three times in a row, as the little dictator is demanding these days."
- Superdumb Supervillain
e. The Year of the Horse
---
"A fun-loving book with an excellent message of friendship and love - The Year of the Horse is not only well written, its eye-popping illustrations that will engage and entertain your eager beginning reader."
- The Squishable Baby
f. Welcome to Monster Isle
---
"The creatures are pulled both from cryptozoology as well as mythologies from various cultures, so the blending of the two will more than likely make history just a bit more fantastic and entertaining. Monster Isle is eye-catching like a child's imagination should be, so it will feel right at home while you're reading it to them before they go to sleep at night."
