San Francisco, California - August 15, 2008 - Immedium, Inc. proudly announces the publication of The Woollyhoodwinks vs. The Dark Patch, the first story of the popular plush dolls known affectionately as the Woollyhoodwinks. Illustrated by the creators Jeff Root and Scott Runcorn, and written by their compatriots Phil Dumesnil and Asa Sanchez, this inventive tale will spark the imaginations of both kids and adults.

The Woollyhoodwinks are five cuddly creatures who enjoy life in the richly textured Black North Forest. Junco leads the imaginative Ludic, the prankster Reddy, the reasonable Ozard, and the cute baby named Fluke.

However, their carefree existence is interrupted when a piece of the sky falls to earth. There this dark patch begins to grow! As it spreads over the ground and disturbs the tranquility of their woodland home, the five friends take turns trying to solve this strange mystery. How will the naturally inventive 'Hoodwinks save the day?

True to the doll's original handcrafted designs, the illustrations ingeniously resemble landscapes stitched from colorfully patterned fabrics. Wonderful vistas spring from sewn cloth that remind readers of cozy homespun quilts. The Woollyhoodwinks' amusing and eye-catching antics are bound to appeal to the dreamer in everyone.

The Dallas Morning News remarked, "Toys have always been popular with children and collectors, but now there's a new breed booming: handmade art toys." The Woollyhoodwinks vs. The Dark Patch promises to be the first of many adventures to come as the Woollyhoodwinks keep exploring a rich and boundless universe.
