A. Hannah the Horse rides on!
---
2026's year of the Fire Horse has gotten off to a hot start in more ways than one!

Looking on the bright side of things, Hannah the horse has energetically shared her adventures in The Year of the Horse. This is the latest story in our popular series Tales from the Chinese Zodiac.

Like Hannah, we've gone on the road to schools, libraries, and community gatherings to tell her inspiring tale.

We encourage parents to download our free coloring pages for their kids' enjoyment.

Teachers can also use our free reader guides and activity sheets for eager students in their classrooms.

B. Hannah at the Huntington
---
Illustrator of The Year of the Dragon, Snake, and Horse, Jennifer Wood joined author Oliver Chin to autograph the Tales from the Chinese Zodiac at the Huntington Library's sold-out weekend festival (February 21-22 in San Marino, CA).

We enjoyed meeting families and honoring the animals of their loved ones' birth years.

Readers appreciated Jennifer's joyful drawings of Dominic the dragon, Suzie the snake, and Hannah the horse. Her lively sketches made their personalized books into special keepsakes of this memorable annual event.

C. Fun at Festivals
---
We've traversed California from north to south to participate in lunar new year celebrations.

Recently in Oakland Chinatown, we partnered with our friends at Eastwind Books, dedicated advocates of AAPI literature.

There we gladly met Nicole Wong, author of the new hardcover Mahjong: House Rules from Across the Asian Diaspora. Nicole's book is fun and colorful - check it out!

Next up - mark your calendars on Saturday, April 25th, when we head to the East Bay once again.

Come up the hill to lovely Piedmont to partake in the annual Piedmont Food Fest in Piedmont Park.

A good time will be had by all who savor sun, food, music, and a good book!

Good Dream, Bad Dream

by Juan Calle and Serena Valentino
illustrated by Juan Calle

"This exciting story features monsters and heroes from many different cultures presented in action-packed comic-style illustrations. Additionally, this bilingual book is written in both English and Spanish, making it accessible for speakers of either language."

Baltazar and the Flying Pirates

by David G. Derrick Jr.

"...kids step right into a fun and beautifully illustrated adventure.... The story looks like an animated film, and the lively drawings prove perfect for inspiring little minds. Your child will not be disappointed by this story; in fact, don't be surprised if you get requests to read it over and over again!"
- Mom Central
