A. Ray the Rooster flies higher!
---
Traveling by plane has been a bumpy ride lately...
but The Year of the Rooster and its hero Ray keep soaring, and their readers are happy to fly friendly skies!
"With bright, bold illustrations and text in English and simplified Chinese characters, readers will enjoy Ray's infectious, can-do spirit and optimism...
VERDICT: Meeting all of the zodiac animals makes a fitting end to the series, but this volume still stands on its own. Like previous installments, this offers a fun take on the lunar year's animal in a story that works year-round."

I'm the Scariest Thing in the Jungle!
by David Derrick
"Besides the awesome illustrations, the book is written very well. The conversation between the alligator and tiger really sounds like two kids fighting about who is the best... Five out of five bookworms."

The Story of Noodles
by Ying Chang Compestine
"This story may leave your mouth watering for noodles and your chopsticks at the ready, as Compestine and Xuan cook up a tale explaining the origins of a favorite Chinese food...The boys' humorous exploits are brought to life in Xuan's illustrations, created with vivid colors surrounded by the striking black lines of traditional paper cuts... An appetizingly funny story"
