A. Justin Time airs on NBC on July 7th
The animated TV series Justin Time features kids who go on novel adventures worldwide - the show premieres on NBC tomorrow! Plus we're publishing the first storybook this fall :)

NBC Kids launches on Saturday, July 7: a new Saturday morning programming block designed specifically to address the developmental needs of preschool-aged children. Programmed by the kids experts at Sprout, the nation's first 24-hour preschool television channel, this new three-hour block will feature educational series that promote active, healthy lifestyles for younger children. Read the full press release here.

Justin Time can be seen regularly on the cable channel PBS Sprout:

Our first book Justin Time: The Pancake Express (September 2012) showcases two things children love: trains and flapjacks!

B. Creators at San Diego Comic Con & beyond
Next week 130,000 attendees throng to San Diego to marvel at fantastic figures from unbridled imaginations. Among them are our creators!

Attaboy signs his storybook You Might be a Monster at the Hi-Fructose booth #4939.

Brianne Drouhard, author of Billie the Unicorn, has books available at nearby Trickster (795 J Street).

Plus Jennifer Wood (The Year of the Dragon: Tales from the Chinese Zodiac) will attend, as she puts the finishing touches on the 2013 edition of The Year of the Snake.

Sora and the Cloud by Felicia Hoshino won the Bronze medal in the Children's Picture Book category for the 2011 Book of the Year awards from ForeWord magazine.

Congratulations Felicia!

Winners were announced recently at the American Library Association's annual convention in Anaheim, CA. ForeWord Reviews is a journal dedicated to reviewing independently published books. Their review called Sora and the Cloud "a delicate and enchanting bilingual story with exceptional watercolor scenes."

Felicia will autograph at San Francisco's annual Nihonmachi Fair on August 4th at the Eastwind Books booth.

C. Character Preview: The Treehouse Heroes
Coming this October 2012:

"A whimsical tale of the magical Zez, and her adventures with the Treehouse Heroes & the evil General Moon. A story of magic, hope, belief and wonderment, written by Phil Amara and beautifully accented by the lush illustration of Alina Chau."
- Ally Takeuchi, Swoon Gallery, Los Angeles

Here is a preview of one of the five Treehouse Heroes

this elegant young lady is more than meets the eye. This shape-changer can transform into animals both large and small, and use their special abilities to her best advantage.

Billie the Unicorn - iOS app

"The illustrations and colors used in this book app are quite impressive. Objects take on a 3D feel with no need for special eyewear. Additionally, the story has some interactive elements and a good overall tale."

Welcome to Monster Isle - iOS app

"The app is great fun - in the best tradition of adventure comics, but with all the added advantages of touch screen technology."
