The month of May commemorates the contributions and cultures of Asian Pacific Americans.

We gladly celebrate the occasion, sharing our multicultural stories with elementary schools throughout Northern California.

We'll give away thousands our brand new postcard that features our Tales from the Chinese Zodiac series and provides a sneak peek at next year's special animal!

Plus reprints of the Year of the Rat, Tiger, Dragon, and Snake arrive this month.

C. David Derrick at Kidspace in Pasadena
---
For those of you in Southern California, on May 11th, come see author David Derrick read his storybook Animals Don't, So I Won't! at Kidspace Children's Museum near the world famous Pasadena Rose Bowl.

Kidspace is one of our most favorite kid-friendly places!

Since Dave is a story artist at DreamWorks Animation, get ready to watch a cool drawing demonstration too!

Animals Don't, So I Won't! is our 10th story available as an Apple iOS ebook - check it out!

Meanwhile, Dave is putting the finishing touches on his upcoming September story, which also is chock full of more fun-loving animals: I'm the Scariest Thing in the Jungle!

The Year of the Snake:
Tales from the Chinese Zodiac

"Lily and Suzie show not only each other, but also Lily's grandparents and the farm, what a couple of friends can do when they put their heads together and think up some creative solutions to some interesting (and fiery!) problems!"
- Northshire Book Blog

The Woollyhoodwinks vs. the Dark Patch

"In the opening line and in much of the story, I could hear the voice of the great Frank Oz. Though it was also filled with many beautiful turns of phrase and was certainly a lyrical joy to read aloud…The artwork in the book is perhaps my favorite thing of all, a blend of traditional illustration and fabric crafts that have been photo-shopped in. It has a warmth and depth to it that I find very appealing."
- Geek Mom
