Oliver Chin, Author

Oliver is the author of the popular children's books Julie Black Belt, the Tales from the Chinese Zodiac series (Dog Pig, Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse), Baltazar and the Flying Pirates, Welcome to Monster Isle, Timmy and Tammy’s Train of Thought, and The Adventures of WonderBaby.

Previously he wrote The Tao of Yao: Insights from Basketball's Brightest Big Man, which Publishers Weekly called a "clever twist on the traditional sports biography." Also he wrote and illustrated the graphic novel 9 of 1: A Window to the World, which Library Journal named a “Top Graphic Novel on 9-11”. It also received 2003 Honorable Mention for the Gustavus Myers Award that "commends works that extend our understanding of the root causes of bigotry and the range of options we as humans have in constructing alternative ways to share power."

Oliver had spoken on NPR, Fox Sports, at colleges such as Yale, University of Michigan, and Stanford, and organizations such as the US Census Bureau. Called a "comics expert" by the San Jose Mercury News, he has presented at libraries, schools, and museums nationwide. A graduate of Harvard (magna cum laude in Social Studies), he lives in San Francisco, California with his wife and two sons.

Charlene Chua, Illustrator

Charlene Chua is an award winning illustrator who began her career in her native country of Singapore. Her illustrations have appeared in many places in various countries. Some of her past clients include The Wall Street Journal, Tully's Coffee, Scholastic Canada, Oxford publishing, Best Health magazine, and others.

Charlene moved to Canada in 2007, and lived in Toronto for several years. She now lives with her husband and cat in Hamilton, ON.
