C. 1000 cranes in San Mateo
---
When people fold 1,000 origami cranes, that group is called a "senbazuru" in Japanese. An old Japanese legend tells the story of a person who folded a senbazuru and was granted a wish. In Japan the crane is a revered creature, said to live a millennia. So that is why people fold 1,000 cranes, one for each year.
Come fold cranes and make a wish on June 17th. Join the Organization of Chinese Americans (San Mateo, CA chapter) at the Central Park Community Center, next to the Japanese Tea Garden (50 East 5th Avenue, 94401) at 10 am.
Immedium will have a table there, sharing our inspiring, multicultural, and Asian American children's books.
