A. Happy New Year!
---
We hope 2021 is better for everyone. This past year has presented many obstacles and plumbed the depths of our resilience.

In this spirit comes our newest storybook. Chinese New Year begins on Friday, February 12th. The Year of the Ox portends that success depends upon discipline, duty, and hard work.

Our diminutive heroine Olivia the Ox will inspire even the youngest among us to roll up our sleeves and contribute to our communities. Olivia and her soul sister Mei vow to be there for each other and live life to its fullest.

The amazing art is by Jeremiah Alcorn, who illustrated The Year of the Dog, Pig, and Rat in our annual series Tales from the Chinese Zodiac.

This revised edition of The Year of the Ox features a bilingual translation in simplified Chinese.

B. See Awesome Asian Americans
---
With a new US president comes a renewed understanding of what the country stands for, what patriotism is, and how people can appreciate the diversity of their fellow citizens.

We tackle these concepts from many angles in our illustrated anthology Awesome Asian Americans.

The Midwest Book Review wrote:
"A unique compendium of outstanding Asian Americans in terms of their lives and accomplishments, Awesome Asian Americans is an extraordinary, informative, and thoroughly 'kid friendly' in organization and presentation -- making it an especially and unreservedly recommended addition to family, elementary school, middle school, and community library collections."

Co-written by Phil Amara and Oliver Chin and illustrated by Juan Calle, this non-fiction graphic novel profiles 10 women & 10 men, who call us upward and onward.

Giveaway:
The first 3 people who order an autographed Awesome Asian Americans book, will get a free 8 x10 print.

C. Read That Girl on TV Could Be Me
---
The Latino Times wrote that Author Leticia Ordaz's new storybook "tells her story: the first in her family to go to college, who didn't see anyone on TV who looked like her on the news. She was determined to break barriers and one day be on the news."

A reader wrote:
"As a former journalist, I appreciate the way the book accurately captures the profession. I love the story is also in Spanish so my little one could hopefully use this book to also help with learning the language too!"

Giveaway:
The first 3 people who order an autographed That Girl on TV Could Be Me book will get a free 8 x10 print.

Sid the Squid
by David Derrick

"I have always been a big advocate of zoos and aquariums for putting people into direct contact with animals that they need to see, understand, and appreciate in order to protect. Derrick manages to accomplish that in stories that leap off the page. These are definitely worth exploring with your budding young adventurers."
