A. Happy Asian Heritage Month

May is Asian Pacific American (APA) Heritage Month, when APA cultures and contributions are recognized nationwide. This year we honor the 40th anniversary of this annual commemoration.

Like in many cities, the San Francisco Public Library celebrates with many community programs.
Author Oliver Chin presents The Discovery of Ramen this Saturday (2 pm) at the SFPL's Presidio branch. Enjoy a fun family storytime and ... free ramen for everyone!
B. Octonauts TV series win 2018 Daytime Emmy award

Last month, the 45th annual Daytime Emmy awards were held in Pasadena, CA.
The Octonauts TV series won the Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Program.
We're glad to share the adventures of this intrepid crew with fans around the world.
C. Phil Amara visits Toronto

Author Phil Amara exhibited at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) this past weekend. May 12-13th.
Founded in 2003, TCAF is the held at the Toronto Reference Library and is a leading comic book convention for independent creators (www2.torontocomics.com).
A veteran attendee, Phil presented his new comic book Planet, as well as The Treehouse Heroes and The Discovery of Ramen.
Phil had a great time meeting fans and sharing his work.
He looks forward to returning next year...with the spectaular sequel in our children's picture book series The Asian Hall of Fame!
