A. Vote for the Octonauts!
---
Congratulations all you Americans for doing your civic duty on November 4th. Now that the election is done, the hard part of "change" has just begun! But while the USA's new president is getting settled, let's acknowledge 8 critters whose successful pursuit of happiness never ends:

"For designers, illustrators and those in the media industry, this is a keepsake with its lovely illustration for reference and also educational purpose. Every page is filled with endearing soft sweet colors…For parents, this is suitable for young kids to get started on adventure and exciting stories, building up curiosity about science, biology and not to forget that inquisitive mind of a young reader for detective-styled storyline. You'll be surprised if you discover a little Sherlock Holmes in the making."
- All About Kawaii

Such is the reception to our new book The Octonauts and the Frown Fish we're pleased to report. The creators Meomi had a whale of time meeting fans young and older, as they read their smile-inducing tale. For the second time, they made Publishers Weekly's "Picture of the Day"!

B. Enjoy Monsters after Halloween!
---
Artist Jeff Miracola was interviewed on the TV's The Morning Blend (Milwaukee, WI - NBC Channel 4) about his fantastic illustrations in our new book Welcome to Monster Isle.

Our beasts continue to frolic long after Halloween! Author Oliver Chin will read this gargantuan adventure in San Francisco (11/9) and Sacramento (11/23), and Jeff will do likewise in Wisconsin on the same day. Visit our official web site www.monsterisle.net for more details.

"Here is a book that is geared towards kids, but embraces the adventurer in all of us. If you are as huge a fan of the SciFi Channel's DESTINATION TRUTH as I am, you'll definitely want to check out this book of monsters creatively illustrated by Jeff Miracola...Perfect bed time story reading material."

C. Wear your Woollyhoodwinks for Winter
---

To fend off the chill in the air, nothing works better than hugging a warm Woollyhoodwink (so days 4 out of 5 doctors surveyed).

But if you don't believe us, go see these 5 snuggly dolls and their creators Jeff Root and Scott Runcorn in person, as they retell their entertaining yarn The Woollyhoodwinks vs. the Dark Patch

The 'Winks will appear in the San Francisco's Noe Valley (11/8) and Mission districts (11/15). Later they will pair up with Welcome to Monster Isle further south down the bay in San Carlos (11/17), Menlo Park (11/30), and Foster City (12/6). Learn more at www.woollyhoodwinks.com.

The Octonauts & the Frown Fish
(ISBN: 1-59702-14-5, $15.95)

"Too many children's books talk down to kids, thinking that talking on their level equates to dropping IQ points. It's refreshing to read The Octonauts & the Frown Fish, a smart and entertaining kids book. Cutely conceptualized by the design team Meomi who designs popular clothing, toys, and merchandise, this story plays with a large cast of talking animals trying to make a frowning fish smile…Comic book readers looking to get their kids into graphic storytelling early will want to seek out this one. Nice bed time story reading, this one is."

The Woollyhoodwinks vs. the Dark Patch
(ISBN: 1-59702-012-1, $15.95)

"…a delightful tale of plush creatures who must use their wits and talents to battle a mysterious dark patch that arrives one day to swallow them up, one by one…Each one bears a different crafted personality, and although they are darn cute, the language is perhaps more sophisticated than that generally used for the 4-8 crowd that is the targeted audience. Our favorite line: 'So the space between yesterday and tomorrow is now.' "
