A. The Octonauts sail to a Pier Near You
---
"Good news from the world of awesome things! Meomi's new book is out: The Octonauts & the Frown Fish! The Octonaut books are adorable, clever, and visually sumptuous. I always recommend them to young and old(er) alike!"
- Treehouse Jukebox

We couldn't have said it better ourselves! Meomi kicks off the author tour for their third book this Sunday (10/5) in Vancouver, Canada. Then they arrive in San Francisco on 10/16 and will read on every side of the Bay: from San Jose to Sebastopol, and from Palo Alto to Berkeley. Next they will appear in Los Angeles to share their unique brand of happiness. So fans mark your calendars and come say hello.

But never fear - for those of you who can't fly halfway around the globe, you can always pre-order your autographed copies here! Plus, enjoy two new coloring pages that you can download from our gallery page or www.octonauts.com.

B. Monster Isle, Ahoy!
---
"Welcome to Monster Isle would make a perfect Halloween gift {if you give gives for Halloween like my mother-in-law occasionally does}, books make the best gifts! And Immedium publishes the best books!"
- Baby Luxe

Lucky us - they took the words right out of mouth...again! October is a unique month since Immedium has 2 new books available, so the tricks and treats come early. Illustrator Jeff Miracola presses the flesh in Wisconsin, while author Oliver Chin calls the wild ones out in California.

Visit our official web site www.monsterisle.net. Have fun coloring your favorite creatures and finding your way through our activity pages. And here is the profile of our 7th, last and biggest beast!

The Zillard:
This huge reptile occasionally emerges from his lair in the deep ocean. Many times larger and more fearsome than a Tyrannosaurus Rex, this fire-breathing lizard freezes onlookers with its deafening roar. However, it does have a soft spot for smiling kids and puppy dogs, and would make a great plaything.

C. Wherefore art thou Woollyhoodwinks?
---

"Each scene in the book is beautifully photographed mixed in with drawings and stitched scenery. The jist of the story is about how The Woollyhoodwinks' carefree existence is interrupted when a piece of the sky falls to the earth, becoming the infamous dark patch. But, cute story aside, you'll want to get this adorable book for all it's crafty inspiration!"
- Craft magazine

The Woollyhoodwinks vs. the Dark Patch is making fans one stitch at a time. The authors continue to meet people who finds these critters, both in doll and book form, irresistible. Come meet them at the annual trade show of the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association on 10/5.

Get a sweet double scoop of both the 'Winks and Meomi at Barnes and Noble in San Jose on 10/16, and later a combo of 'Winks and Monster Isle at the San Carlos Public Library (11/17) and Kepler's bookstore in Menlo Park, CA (11/30).

Julie Black Belt
(ISBN: 1-59702-09-5, $15.95)

"Julie Black Belt: The Kung Fu Chronicles is a picturebook about a young girl who learns how to study martial arts. She dreams that learning kung fu will make her more like a movie star, but is surprised to find out how much hard work is involved! But her teacher encourages her; "A black belt is just a white belt that doesn't quit." Julie learns how to incorporate her martial arts practice into her daily life; when the day of her gold belt test comes, she's nervous but passes with flying colors, earning a special prize - an autographed photo of her favorite celebrity, Brandy Wu! The utterly exuberant artwork enhances this wonderful picturebook ideal for helping get young girls excited about the prospect of learning self-defense."

The Year of the Rat: Tales from the Chinese Zodiac
(ISBN: 1-59702-011-7, $15.95)

"One gift that we're loving, is the appropriately named The Year of the Rat: Tales from the Chinese Zodiac, the next in Oliver Chin's wonderful series. Miah Alcorn's illustrations have a frenetic, smile-inducing, Cartoon Network feel about them - a perfect complement to the engaging story of a baby rat infused with 'rat' characteristics of cleverness, ambition, and ingenuity."
- Cool Mom Picks
